DJI has lifted the curtain on more details about its upcoming Osmo Pocket 4P, the pro-oriented successor to the wildly popular Osmo Pocket 3 and the recently launched Osmo Pocket 4. Unveiled at a press event in Malta, the Pocket 4P is shaping up to be the most capable pocket-sized gimbal camera the company has ever built.

A Leap in Dynamic Range

The headline feature is a staggering claim of 17 stops of dynamic range. If accurate, that would put the Pocket 4P on par with professional cinema cameras from ARRI, while costing a fraction of the price. To help videographers take full advantage of that headroom, DJI is introducing a new log format called D-Log2, designed to preserve highlight and shadow detail in challenging lighting conditions. Of course, the 17-stop figure will need to be independently verified once the camera officially ships.

Dual Cameras for Versatile Shooting

As previously teased, the Osmo Pocket 4P features a dual-camera system. The primary wide-angle camera is similar to the one found on the standard Osmo Pocket 4, offering an ultra-wide field of view. A secondary camera adds a 3x optical zoom lens, which DJI now confirms has a 35mm-equivalent focal length of roughly 60mm — ideal for portraits, product close-ups, and more composed framing. The company has also hinted at a “large” aperture for the zoom lens, though exact f-stop specifications remain under wraps.

A New Color Option

For the first time, the Osmo Pocket series is also getting a white color option, joining the classic black finish. This puts it in the same colorway as its main rival, the Insta360 Luna Ultra, though early previews suggest the white finish may show dust and dirt more readily than the black model.

Pricing and Availability

DJI is keeping official pricing, resolution, and frame rate specifications under wraps for now. However, thanks to typical DJI staggered-release patterns and leaks, the camera is already on sale in China, which has given early adopters a glimpse into its capabilities. A release date for Europe and North America has yet to be announced, but industry watchers expect it to hit Western markets sometime in early Q3 2026.
